My name is Jeff Trotter and I'm honored to serve as the Founder & CEO of The Bend Dxnt Break Foundation. I am the husband of Dr. Whitney Trotter DNP, PMHP-BC, RN and the father of two lovely children. I previously worked in the nonprofit, mentoring sector for about 15 yrs. I served in over 15 community centers and 4 church plants throughout that time. One of those churches happened to be the largest Presbyterian Church in America called Hope Church in Memphis, Tennessee. I served there for 5yrs. as the Special Projects Assistant to the Office of the Senior Pastor. After learning under Hope's leadership I stepped out on faith into the mission field of mental health advocacy.

I've personally wrestled with depression, anxiety and adult ADHD. I know what it's like all too well and this movement is self-serving in that regard. Whether family member, friend, coworker or mentee I've seen mental illness wreak havoc on the lives of many. This movement started as I wrote songs to talk about mental health with a few students. I would perform those songs and people would share their personal stories with me afterwards. Those conversations helped me to see that there was more to be done in the mission of mental health advocacy, beyond my music.

Needless to say, there has been an alarming uptick in mental illness cases over the last two decades. The need to increase resources, compassionate care, and concern couldn't be more urgent. Please consider joining arms with us as we look to find pragmatic solutions for this enormous issue. We would be fools to believe we could fight this fight alone. There has been rampant gun violence, homicides, suicides and an opioid epidemic that has devastated our society. Our communities need people with compassionate hearts that are willing to be the change they wish to see.

Sincerely, -Jeff Trotter, Founder & CEO
